When Marquis “Bo” Porter set out to publish CORE Magazine in 2020, he wanted to tell thoughtful, inspirational stories of leaders committed to making the world better. Since then, the magazine has held true to that mission, covering business, sports, leadership, philanthropy and marketing for a well-read, diverse audience.
“CORE embodies the true essence of being a champion at a time when America needs champions,” says Porter, an accomplished professional athlete, Major League Baseball executive, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
With a desire to be “a change agent and champion for all that is good,” he unveiled the CORE 100 Most Influential Blacks Today in 2021 – and the second edition of the list has just been released. The distinguished list is a who’s who of “inspirational leaders working to remove barriers and pave the way for generations to come,” according to CORE magazine.
“The CORE 100 can be viewed as a mark to and reminder of the beauty, boldness, and brilliance of Black Excellence,” says Porter.
